Truckee Donner PUD Offers New Conservation Programs
Save energy, save water, save money!
Truckee, Calif. (May 29, 2013) – The Truckee Donner Public Utility District (TDPUD) announces new and improved conservation programs that provide opportunities for residential and business customers to save energy, water and money. Interested in a rebate for purchasing LED lighting for your home? Want an extra $25 or $50 rebate for buying the most efficient appliance or toilet? Want to invest in cost-effective conservation projects to save your business money?
The TDPUD has a large portfolio of energy and water conservation programs that help customers implement cost-effective projects. Customers can choose from traditional rebate programs, free residential energy surveys and CFL’s, and free business lighting and commercial refrigeration programs.
New programs and improvements include*:
• $5 rebate per LED light bulb that you purchase for your home (business customers, call the TDPUD for free LED screw/plug-in light bulbs);
• Improved incentives for super -efficient appliances that exceed the Energy Star rating;
• $125 rebate per ultra-water-efficient (1.28 GPF) or dual-flush toilet;
• $175 rebate for water-efficient clothes washers ($125 energy rebate + $50 water rebate); and
• Custom commercial rebate ($0.16/kWh) for qualifying energy efficiency projects at your business.
*Go to www.tdpud.org for program rules and to see if you qualify. Rebates must be received by the TDPUD within 90 days of purchase or installation.
