TDPUD Announces Hire of new Chief Financial Officer

Longtime local Michael Salmon joins executive leadership team.

Truckee, Calif. (April 22, 2020) –Truckee Donner Public Utility District (TDPUD) is pleased to announce that Michael Salmon has joined the executive leadership team as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).  Mr. Salmon beat out a talented pool of over 50 candidates in a nationwide search led by the executive recruitment firm Peckham & McKenney and supported by Pamela Hurt Associates.  The hiring process included the development of prioritized skill sets, an updated candidate profile, advertising and recruitment brochure and an innovative interviewing and selection process. 

 

Mr. Salmon was selected by an interview committee representative of staff, executive leadership and the board.  His educational background, professional experience, leadership and commitment to Truckee made him the obvious choice.  He has a dual bachelor of science degree in both accounting and finance and has worked professionally in this field since 1988.  Mr. Salmon was formerly the controller for Northstar and has been with the Tahoe Donner Association since 2007 where he was serving as director of finance and accounting.

As CFO, Mr. Salmon’s responsibilities will be to provide leadership and direction to the district’s finance and accounting, customer service and human resources teams.  He brings a strong innovative approach to team dynamics with a values-based and solutions-oriented approach to leadership.  Mr. Salmon and his family have called Truckee/Tahoe home for more than 25 years making him a natural fit with the TDPUD and in the local community.
