Water Saving Programs

Water Efficient Toilet Rebate

Features and Benefits

Older toilets account for up to 30% of water used inside your home, but how much water your toilet actually needs to flush properly is less than you think!

  • Toilets account for more than 25% of daily water use for an average family.
  • A warped or poorly fitted toilet flapper can waste up to 200 gallons of water per day.
  • A toilet that is constantly running can waste up to 300 gallons of water an hour.

How much water does my toilet use?

  • If your home was built prior to 1995, then you likely have a toilet that uses 3 gallons or more per flush.
  • The GPF capacity may be stamped on the inside of the tank or underside of the tank lid, if it is stamped 1995 or earlier then you qualify.
  • Generally, newer toilet's gallons per flush are printed on the porcelain directly behind the seat, inside the tank or on the tank lid.
