Here are some safety tips to help avoid electrically related fires, injuries and possible fatalities

Indoors :

  • Replace electric cords that could be damaged or frayed.
  • Do no run cords under carpets or rugs
  • Use outlet covers to protect children, never place anything in an outlet other than an electric plug

Outdoors:

  • Never touch a downed power line!
  • Call 911 or TDPUD if you see a downed line
  • Do not plant trees under powerlines or near utility equipmen
